Onboard your agent
MCP and REST expose the same mailbox tools. Claude Code, Cursor, or your own agent work the inbox too.
Same mailbox, your agent
Companion is the native workspace agent. You can also point an external agent at the same mailbox. It sees the same threads, aliases, calendar, and tasks — not a shadow copy.
- MCP for coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, and anything that speaks MCP).
- Scoped REST keys for your own backend.
- Per-alias Companion policy still applies: draft, assign, or send.
Connect over MCP
- 1
Create a scoped key
https://app.humaner.io/dashboard/settings/organization Settings → API keys. Limit the key to the mailbox tools you want the agent to use.
- 2
Add the Humaner MCP server
In Claude Code or Cursor, register the Humaner MCP endpoint with that key. The agent then lists inbox, calendar, and task tools.
- 3
Stay on the same aliases
Do not create a second sending identity. The agent uses the connected Gmail, Microsoft, or IMAP aliases.
API keys
A key belongs to one organization. Rotate it anytime. See Organization → API keys.
REST
The same mailbox tools are on REST for agents that do not speak MCP. Auth is a Bearer key. Shapes and errors live in the API reference.
